Common Mistakes: Supporting Partner's Minor

When partner opens one of a minor suit (diamonds or clubs) it may be fine to support with four or more cards. However, if you hold a 4-card major suit (spades or hearts) it is usually better to bid your suit in the hope of finding an 8-card fit with partner. If you fail to find a fit in the major suit, then you can return to the minor suit or no trumps on your next bid. Learn to Play Bridge: Maggie Hadley: Oasis Bridge Tuition
